I hope you have enjoyed National Crochet Month and Crochetville's designer blog tour. Join me in thanking Amy Shelton and Donna Hulka in putting this all together!
All the winners have been notified, they have selected their winnings, which have been packed/mailed, and all tracking numbers sent out to winners. Congratulations Sharon, Regina, Jessica, Julie, Maria, Amanda, & Dana!!!
As a textile/crochet historian and designer, I collect crochet books and often end up with duplicates. I have tried selling on eBay, but that was unsatisfactory and have learned that I prefer to give my duplicates to go to those who would appreciate them most. I have seven lots of books for give-away (free to anyone in the US, and for the cost of postage for anyone outside of the US). To be eligible to be randomly selected, leave a "NatCroMo" note to me on this blog or Facebook private message, by midnight April 1, 2016. If you receive a "good luck" note from me, you will know that you have been entered. The seven lots are below and the randomly selected winners will get their choice in order of their selection.

DeleteThanks for the opportunity to add to my crochet book collection through your NatCroMo giveaway. Your creations are very unique, and I have to tell you that I was really looking forward to receiving your dogwood pattern . We have a dogwood tree in our memorial garden and it is one of my favorite flowers, even though it is not our state (Washington) flower. kroshay@hughes.net
ReplyDeleteHi Kroshay, Thank you for your comments. Good luck in my NatCroMo giveaway! I am sorry about the dogwood pattern, I just have too much on my plate. But I plan to post it here toward the end of April. I will advertise it on FaceBook when I do. I like your Id--"Kroshaay". Reminds me of "Crow Shay Hook" in Mary Francis Knit and Crochet Book: https://archive.org/details/maryfrancesknitt00frye

DeleteHappy NatCroMo! I assume it isn't a happily haunted laundromat if it is one to be avoided?
ReplyDeleteCawingcrow, Good Luck on my NatCroMo giveaway! It was Saturday night, we were about half-way through our vacation in England. I think we were near Lyme Regis and we found a laundromat! Since nearly all of our clothes were dirty, we were ecstatic to find a laundromat. We decided to take turns sorting, washing, drying and folding cloths. I had the first watch...crocheting in hand. While waiting for clothes to wash I noticed that empty machines would occasionally start washing or drying... Strange, I thought. I put first couple of loads in dryer and put a couple more loads in washers, avoiding those that seemed to have minds of their own. I folded some clothes, occasionally noticing that machines were stopping and starting on their own. Suddenly, mid-wash-cycle the washer with our clothes stopped...and it didn't start again. I looked all over the laundromat for a number to call in case of malfunction---none! Nearly all our dark clothes were in that washing machine! Ted and Paul arrived as I was finishing folding all the other clothes. Ted went to the nearby pub to inquire where he could get help and they called the man who was supposed to be watching over the laundromat during the owner's absence. No response. We went to our B&B with 3/4 of our clothes that night. The following morning, wondering what we were going to do, we made another visit to the laundromat. Our clothes were on the table, washed, dried, and neatly folded. It looked like someone had taken a tire-iron to the washer the clothes had been in. We did not see anyone to thank.
DeleteAnd the washer would not open---it was locked closed!
DeleteCool story ... I doubt I'd ever be able to step into another laundromat if I'd witnessed that!
DeleteHAPPY NatCroMo Karen, Thanks, I have been a follower for sometime. I am your biggest Fan & I Enjoy your Post you share. Thanks for taking time out as you do.

Thanks Loren. You may want to check out my website too. Lots of good info out there--My son calls it my database! Seems to me I have had discussions with you on Ravelry? Anyway, good luck on my NatCroMo giveaway!
DeleteIt was very nice to get to know you through the NatCroMo2016. I have been crocheting for 50+ years and have always loved vintage patterns, I got my love of vintage from my mother. Crocheted beading pieces, especially necklaces is something I'd like to learn someday.
ReplyDeleteI have been crocheting 60 years, but still learning too. I have done a fair bit of bead crochet but want to learn to do it like Judith Bertoglio Griffin's pattern graphing crocheted bead ropes http://www.amazon.com/Patterns-Graphing-Bead-Crochet-Ropes/dp/1511784520/ref=pd_sim_14_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=1TXSRXXA2DCXVF3ARAB9 . ReplyDeletegirliefriend, Good luck to you on my NatCroMo giveaway!
DeleteI will not be taking any more entries---selection process taking place.
ReplyDeleteI am going very low tech on this all the names are on slips of paper and are in a jar. Seven will be blindly selected and selectees will get to choose their preference of lots in order of their selections. If I do not hear back from selectees within 24 hours of their notification another person will be selected.
